A Norwegian Boeing 737-800, registration LN-NOU performing flight DY-541 from Stavanger to Oslo (Norway) with 182 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Stavanger's runway 36 when the crew reported an engine (CFM56) had ingested a bird, stopped the climb at 2000 feet and returned to Stavanger for a safe landing on runway 36 about 8 minutes after departure.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Stavanger about 7 hours after landing.

A replacement flight DY-6041 is currently estimated to depart Stavanger any time and reach Oslo with a delay of 7.5 hours.
