A Delta Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N314NB performing flight DL-1440 from Salt Lake City,UT to Minneapolis,MN (USA) with 131 people on board, was climbing out of Salt Lake City's runway 16L when the crew reported their left hand engine (CFM56) took a bird on takeoff, declared emergency and they wanted to return to Salt Lake City due to left engine vibrations. The aircraft landed safely back on Salt Lake City's runway 16L about 13 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration N359NB reached Minneapolis with a delay of 90 minutes.
