A UTAir Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration VQ-BLI performing flight UT-173 from Moscow Vnukovo to Kursk (Russia) with 30 passengers, landed in Kursk at about 21:59L (18:59Z) in strong gusting winds when after roll out and slow to taxi speed, while attempting to turn off onto the taxiway a gust caught the aircraft causing it to drift to the edge of the runway until the right main gear went off paved surface before the crew was able to stop the aircraft. The aircraft was disabled, the passengers disembarked onto the runway and were bussed to the terminal.

The airport reported winds of more than 33 knots needed to subside before the aircraft could be moved out of its position.
