A Dniproavia Embraer ERJ-145 on behalf of Aerosvit, registration UR-DNF performing flight VV-245 from Kiev (Ukraine) to Vilnius (Lithuania), was climbing out of Kiev when the crew received indication of a #1 hydraulic system failure. The crew stopped the climb and returned to Kiev for a safe landing.

The flight was cancelled.

Ukraine's Ministry of Transport reported in their monthly bulletin that a post landing examination revealed evidence of a hydraulic leak, maintenance subsequently identified a pipe in the #1 high pressure line, that had developed a crack of 8 mm length. The commission annotated that no entry of a hydraulic leak check could be found in the technical log of the aircraft and the maintenance supervisor did not monitor his subordinate's actions.
