An Aer Lingus Airbus A320-200, registration EI-CVA performing flight EI-771 from Fuerteventura,CI (Spain) to Dublin (Ireland), was enroute at FL360 about 60nm south of Santiago de Compostela,SP (Spain) when the first officer became ill and was unable to continue duties. The captain diverted the aircraft to Santiago where the aircraft landed safely about 20 minutes later. The first officer was taken to a hospital.

A passenger reported crew (captain and cabin crew) and passengers were well looked after at a local hotel until a replacement crew arrived.

The occurrence aircraft departed Santiago as flight EI-1771 about 14.5 hours after landing and reached Dublin with a delay of 14.5 hours.
