The aircraft descended to FL360, later FL290 enroute to Berlin and landed safely on Schoenefeld's runway 25 about 40 minutes after turning around.

Maintenance found a leak in one of the lines supplying fuel to an engine (CFM56).

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration EI-DHF departed Schoenefeld 5 hours after landing and reached Trapani with a delay of 6:10 hours.
