An Air France Boeing 777-300, registration F-GZNG performing flight AF-165 from Vienna (Austria) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), was enroute at FL360 about 50nm north of Munich (Germany) when the crew declared emergency reporting indication of a fuel leak and decided to divert to Munich. The crew performed a rapid descent and landed safely on Munich's runway 26R about 20 minutes later. Examination by emergency services did not identify any fuel leak.

The aircraft was on flight AF-165 from Bangkok (Thailand) to Paris CDG, however had diverted to Vienna earlier to refuel due to stronger than anticipated headwinds.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled.
