An Aegean Airbus A320-200, registration SX-DVN performing flight A3-344 from Athens to Chania (Greece), was on approach to Chania when upon selecting the gear down the crew did not received a down and locked indication for the nose gear. The crew decided to return to Athens, retracted the gear, climbed to FL250. On approach to Athens the gear extended normally and the crew received three greens. The aircraft landed safely on Athens' runway 03L about one hour after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

Gossip suggests the unsafe gear indication was false as result of a malfunction of indicators/sensors.
