A Skywest Canadair CRJ-200 on behalf of United, registration N909SW performing flight OO-5240/UA-5240 from Wichita,KS to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) with 42 people on board, was climbing out of Wichita when the crew reported a possible landing gear issue and advised they needed to stay low. The aircraft levelled off at 5000 feet, the crew worked the related checklists and reported they got a gear disagree on departure. The aircraft returned to Wichita for a safe landing on runway 01R about 25 minutes after departure.

The aircraft was able to depart again after about 2 hours on the ground and reached Chicago with a delay of 160 minutes.
