A Skywest Airlines Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia on behalf of United, registration N237SW performing flight OO-5430/UA-5430 from Arcata,CA to Sacramento,CA (USA), was climbing out of Arcata's runway 14 when birds impacted the windscreen causing damage to the windscreen. The crew stopped the climb at about 7500 feet MSL and returned to Arcata for a safe landing on runway 32 about 12 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The FAA reported the aircraft returned without incident after birds struck and damaged the windshield.
