An ACSA Air Century Jetstream JS-3100, registration HI-816 performing a charter flight from San Juan (Puerto Rico) to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) with 13 people on board, landed on Punta Cana's runway 08 at 20:25L (Oct 13th 00:25Z) when the aircraft veered left off the runway, collided with trees and burst into flames. The occupants were able to evacuate in time, there were 3 minor injuries, the others remained uninjured. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

According to witnesses the aircraft suffered an engine problem during roll out and veered left when the right hand engine (TP331) in reverse apparently failed.

The Dominican Accident Investigation Committee has opened an investigation into the accident.

The tree line is about 130 meters to the left of the left hand edge of runway 08.
