An Aerolineas Argentinas Boeing 737-700, registration LV-CBG performing flight AR-1784 from Buenos Aires Newbery,BA to Corrientes,CR (Argentina), had already reached cruise level when the crew needed to shut an engine (CFM56) down due to vibration indications and returned to Jorge Newbery Aeroparque Airport for a safe landing on runway 13 about 60 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-700 registration LV-CBF reached Corrientes with a delay of 2 hours.

A post flight inspection revealed damage to the engine's inlet and fanblades. A number of fan blades were replaced.
