An Egypt Air Boeing 737-800, registration SU-GDY performing flight MS-759 from Cairo (Egypt) to Copenhagen (Denmark) with 81 passengers, was on approach to Copenhagen's runway 04L maintaining 4000 feet in radio contact with Copenhagen's approach control.

A private Cessna 172 was performing a VFR flight from Bornholm to Copenhagen Roskilde Airport on a westerly course in radio contact with Sweden Control, the transponder did not provide an altitude read out, the pilot reported the Cessna was maintaining 4000 feet.

Denmark's Havarikommission (HCL) reported that according to radar data, no altitude readout available from the Cessna, the aircraft came within 0.1nm horizontally at the estimated same altitude at about 1nm east of Falsterbo (Sweden), within the limits of Copenhagen's TMA. The occurrence has been rated a serious incident, airproximity category A (risk of collision).

Both aircraft continued to their destinations for safe landings.
