The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
The incident aircraft was able to resume service as flight UA-1759 about 20.5 hours after landing.
The Canadian TSB reported on Jun 22nd that the crew received a "FWD CARGO DOOR" EICAS message with no pressurization issues being observed and actioned the relevant checklists without success. The crew declared emergency and diverted to Boston for an overweight landing. The forward cargo door was found properly closed by maintenance on the ground, a loose connector in the forward cargo door wire bundles was identified however as well as failed proximity switch. The switch was replaced, the connector secured and the door tested with full electrical and indication operation confirmed.
