A Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N717TW performing flight DL-221 (dep Sep 11th) from Atlanta,GA (USA) to Brasilia,DF (Brazil), was enroute at FL350 about 50nm northeast of Providenciales (Turks and Caicos Islands) when the crew decided to return to Atlanta due to a failed weather radar. The aircraft landed safely back in Atlanta about 2 hours later.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration N709TW reached Brasilia with a delay of 9.5 hours.
