A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300, flight WN-2365 from Orlando,FL to Rochester,NY (USA) with 149 people on board, was on approach to Rochester maintaining 2500 feet when the crew requested delaying vectors to work out a flaps indication. The crew advised they would not be able to achieve a normal landing configuration and would land at a slightly higher than normal speed and requested emergency services on stand by. The crew further advised they couldn't handle large bank angles, turns would take longer than normal therefore. The aircraft subsequently positioned for an ILS approach to runway 22 and landed safely on runway 22 at about 150 knots over ground.

A passenger reported the crew announced they had a flaps malfunction and would need to cirle near the aerodrome. They would be landing faster than normal, emergency services would be on standby as a precaution. They would need to brake hard, it was important therefore that all loose items were secured, seatbelts were fastened and tray tables up. The landing was a bit rougher than normal, and the passengers erupted in clapping and cheering as the aircraft slowed prompting an announcement by the captain: "What? All in all a day's work!"
