A British Airways Boeing 777-200, registration G-VIIP performing flight BA-2277 from London Gatwick,EN (UK) to Las Vegas,NV (USA), was enroute at FL350 about 90nm northwest of Glasgow,SC (UK) when the crew decided to turn around and return to Gatwick due to a hydraulic failure. The aircraft landed safely back at Gatwick Airport about 2:50 hours after departure.

The flight was cancelled, the flight disappeared from the airline's website (on checking BA-2277: "no information available").

Passengers complained on Twitter about "pure chaos" and lack of information.
