A Royal Air Maroc Boeing 737-800, registration CN-ROB performing flight AT-971 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Casablanca (Marocco) with 125 passengers, was enroute at FL370 about 100nm north of Tangier (Marocco), almost overhead Sevilla,SP (Spain), when the first officer reported feeling ill and became incapacitated prompting the captain to divert to Tangier for a safe landing about 25 minutes later.

The Moroccan Air Line Pilots Association reported that the passengers were lucky as a replacement crew was available at a hotel in Tangier and continued the flight about 25 minutes after landing reaching Casablanca with a delay of about 30 minutes. Medical services diagnosed a general fatigue of the ill first officer.
