A Condor Airbus A321-200, registration D-AIAD performing flight DE-5526 from Leipzig (Germany) to Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Leipzig's runway 08L when the crew stopped the climb at 4000 feet due to a bird strike and returned to Leipzig for a safe landing on runway 08L about 20 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 757-300 registration D-ABOI reached Palma Mallorca with a delay of 13.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft was able to depart Leipzip about 20 hours after landing and resumed service.
