An Emirates Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration A6-EBX performing flight EK-356 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Jakarta (Indonesia) with 247 passengers, was enroute near Chennai when a male passenger (40), travelling with his wife and two children, complained about chest pain triggering fears of a possible a heart attack. The crew decided to divert to Chennai where the aircraft landed safely. The passenger and his family were taken to a local hospital.

The aircraft reached Jakarta with a delay of 2.5 hours.

The hospital diagnosed gastric problems and ruled out any heart related problem and released the passenger, who is going to take the next Emirates flight from Chennai to Dubai, from where the family is able to reach the next flight to Jakarta.
