A Lufthansa Cityline Embraer ERJ-195, registration D-AEBB performing flight LH-2305 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Munich (Germany), was climbing out of Amsterdam's runway 36C when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet following a problem with the left hand engine (CF34) and decided to return to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 36R about 20 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

A passenger reported that about 20-30 seconds after becoming airborne a loud bang was heard from the left hand side and the engine sound changed. The aircraft levelled off and it appeared the crew made various checks on the engine. After about 10 minutes the crew announced they suspected a bird strike into the left hand engine, the engine was responding properly however. As a precaution they would return to Amsterdam. While maneouvering for approach, when more engine thrust was needed, the aircraft seemed unbalanced and vibrated, but landed safely with emergency services attending.
