An Expressjet Embraer ERJ-145 on behalf of United, registration N41104 performing flight EV-6060/UA-6060 from Denver,CO to Springfield,MO (USA), was enroute at FL350 about 150nm southeast of Denver deviating around weather when the aircraft was struck by lightning prompting the crew to decide to return to Denver. While turning to return to Denver the crew decided to divert to Amarillo,TX, about 170nm south of their position, instead due to weather conditions. The aircraft landed safely in Amarillo about 40 minutes later.

The FAA reported the aircraft received damage to the windshield and avionics as result of the lightning strike.
