A Morningstar Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-200, registration C-FTAR performing flight MAL-7082 (dep May 29th) from Montreal,QC to Toronto,ON (Canada), was in the initial descent through FL190 towards Toronto, when the flight deck instruments began to flicker followed by a number of other avionics and electrical system faults. Both engines began to fluctuate with power changes felt by the crew, however, after power on the right hand engine was reduced the left hand engine stabilized. The aircraft was in visual meteorologic conditions, the crew had the airfield in sight. While the crew declared Mayday radio communication was intermittent. The crew continued for a safe landing on Toronto's runway 15L about 13 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported that maintenance replaced the left hand starter/generator and the standby bus contactor. The aircraft underwent ground runs successfully afterwards.
