A UPS United Parcel Service Boeing 767-300 freighter, registration N317UP performing flight 5X-2112 from Louisville,KY to New York JFK,NY (USA), was on visual approach to JFK's runway 13L over the "Mill" about to turn right to align with the runway centerline when the aircraft flew through a flock of what appeared to be geese at about 800 feet AGL and received numerous hits. The crew reported the aircraft was handling fine and continued the approach for a safe landing on runway 13L.

The FAA reported the aircraft received damage to the wings and the left hand engine.

The aircraft remained on the ground throughout May 14th and resumed service on May 15th.
