A Regional 1 Canadair CRJ-100 on behalf of Air Georgian, registration C-GRIA performing flight ZX-7340 from Charlottetown,PE to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 48 people on board, was enroute at FL340 about 40nm west of Ottawa,ON (Canada) when the crew heard loud noise and felt severe vibrations accompanied by a near full deflection of the right hand engine vibration indicator. The crew shut the engine down and continued to Toronto for a safe landing about 40 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported the engine was sent to the engine manufacturer in Winnipeg for further analysis.
