A United Boeing 757-200, registration N19130 performing flight UA-94 from Newark,NJ (USA) to Belfast International,NI (UK), was enroute at FL350 10nm south of Halifax,NS (Canada) when the crew reported problems with the engine (RB211) anti-ice systems and decided to divert to Halifax. The aircraft descended to 10,000 feet and entered a holding to prepare the cabin for landing before the aircraft commenced the safe landing on runway 05 about 30 minutes after leaving FL350.

The aircraft was able to continue the flight after about 19 hours on the ground in Halifax and reached Belfast with a total delay of 19.5 hours.
