Aegean A320 at Moscow on May 12th 2014, flight attendant fell from aircraft

An Aegean Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration SX-DVK performing flight A3-971 from Moscow Domodedovo (Russia) to Athens (Greece), had completed boarding and was about to close doors, when the stairs were already removed from the aircraft. A flight attendant stepping out to close the door thus fell about 4 meters down onto the tarmac, received serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The flight attendant received a complicated hip fracture and lost a lot of blood, underwent a number of surgeries in hospital care and was stabilized.

The flight was able to depart almost on schedule nonetheless.

The airport said the flight attendant (25) decided to leave the aircraft after boarding had been completed, the stairs had already been removed from the aircraft and she fell about 4 meters down onto the tarmac.
