A Nordstar Avion de Transport Regional ATR-42-500, registration VQ-BKQ performing flight TYA-43 from Krasnojarsk to Turukhansk (Russia) with 46 passengers and 4 crew, was climbing through about 5000 feet when the crew reported a right hand engine (PW127) fire indication, shut the engine down, discharged both fire bottles and returned to Krasnojarsk for a safe landing about 15 minutes after departure. No injuries and no damage occurred.

West Siberia's Transport Prosecutor is investigating the occurrence.

Rosaviatsia (Russia's Civil Aviation Administration) investigates the occurrence as well together with the aircraft manufacturer.

The French BEA reported based on information provided by Russian Authorities, that the crew received a right hand engine fire indication while climbing through 5000 feet, an engine fire was extinguished.
