A Kenya Airways Embraer ERJ-190, registration 5Y-FFC performing flight KQ-482 from Nairobi (Kenya) to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) with 49 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Dar es Salaam's runway 23 in heavy rain but temporarily went left off the runway and came to a stop on the runway in front of the firestation near taxiway X at about 14:40L (11:40Z). The aircraft was evacuated, one occupant received serious, 6 occupants minor injuries as result of the evacuation.

The aircraft received damage to the right hand engine as result of the runway excursion.

In a first statement the airline confirmed a minor incident while landing at Dar es Salaam, the aircraft reportedly had a runway excursion on landing in heavy rain. All occupants evacuated safely, there were no injuries.

In a later, fourth, statement the airline confirmed 7 passengers received injuries as result of the evacuation, one of the injuries was serious.
