An Airnorth Regional Embraer ERJ-170, registration VH-ANV performing flight TL-113 from Mcarthur River,NT to Darwin,NT (Australia) with 27 passengers and 5 crew, was enroute at FL400 about 270nm southeast of Darwin when the right hand engine (CF34) emitted two bangs and the aircraft jolted and shuddered. The aircraft drifted down and continued to Darwin where the aircraft landed safely about 50 minutes later.

The aircraft is still on the ground 10 days later.

A passenger reported two loud bangs from the left hand side, the aircraft jolted and shuddered. The crew told them they were to land on single engine.

The airline stated: "During a routine flight on Monday 24th March from McArthur River to Darwin, the crew of Airnorth flight TL113 detected a vibration in the right hand engine. The crew chose to reduce power on the effected engine and continue their flight to Darwin. At no time was the engine shutdown and at any times ‘normal operating power’ was available to the crew from the engine. The crew followed their Standard Operating Procedures perfectly. No emergency or pan needed to be declared nor was declared. The aircraft remains on the ground whilst the engine manufacturer determines the cause of the vibration. Airnorth is not prepared to compromise safety by continuing to operate the engine."
