A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration 9M-MXI performing flight MH-114 from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Kathmandu (Nepal), was on approach to Kathmandu when a bird impacted the aircraft causing the nose landing gear to be broken. The aircraft continued for a safe landing at Kathmandu.

Nepalese Media citing the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal reported the aircraft suffered a cracked windshield. In the regular press conference of Mar 24th 2014 regarding missing flight MH-370 airline officials confirmed the bird strike however stated the aircraft's nose landing light lense was broken as result of the bird strike.

The aircraft was able to depart Kathmandu about 19 hours after landing as flight MH-115D and reached Kuala Lumpur with a delay of 17.5 hours.
