A United Boeing 777-200, registration N77019 performing flight UA-128 from Rio de Janeiro Galeao,RJ (Brazil) to Houston,TX (USA), was descending between 13,000 and 10,000 feet towards Houston at about 04:40L (09:40Z) when the aircraft encountered severe turbulence causing injuries to three flight attendants. The crew subsequently requested ambulances to the gate and reported they had encountered a 90 knots windshear when winds dropped from 127 knots to 37 knots and further to 15 knots, the next arrival reported a wind change from 140 to 40 knots. The crew subsequently reported three flight attendants received head injuries, the severity of the injuries was still unknown but appeared rather minor. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Houston's runway 27 about 15 minutes later.

The FAA reported three flight attendants received unknown injuries when the aircraft inbound to land encountered severe turbulence.
