An Iberia Airbus A340-300, registration EC-HGV performing flight IB-6824 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) to Madrid,SP (Spain), stopped the climb out of Sao Paulo at 8000 feet when the crew received indication that the nose gear had not been fully retracted. The aircraft dumped fuel and returned to Sao Paulo for a safe landing about 70 minutes after departure.

Following repairs of a faulty nose gear sensor the aircraft was able to depart Sao Paulo and reached Madrid with a delay of 5 hours.
