A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration N812NW performing flight DL-233 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Seattle,WA (USA) with 235 passengers and 13 crew, was enroute at FL350 about 400nm northwest of Iqaluit,NU (Canada) when the crew noticed the spoiler panels 4 and 8 on the right hand wing were not stowed. The crew decided to divert to Iqaluit reporting a maintenance issue and landed safely in Iqaluit about 80 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported the crew decided to divert to Iqaluit due to insufficient fuel to reach the intended destination because the right hand wing's spoiler panels 4 and 8 were not stowed.

A replacement Boeing 777-200 registration N867DA reached Seattle with a delay of 13 hours.
