A UTAir Boeing 737-500, registration VQ-BJQ performing flight UT-596 from Usinsk to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia) with 111 passengers and 6 crew, was climbing out of Usinsk when the crew stopped the climb at FL280 reporting problems with the air conditioning and an altimeter. The aircraft diverted to Syktyvkar, entered a hold to burn off fuel and landed safely on runway 19 about 90 minutes after stopping the climb.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration VQ-BJH reached Moscow with a delay of 8.5 hours.
