A Delta Airlines McDonnel Douglas MD-88, registration N940DL performing flight DL-554 from Nassau (Bahamas) to Atlanta,GA (USA) with 153 people on board, was enroute at FL320 about 70nm northnorthwest of West Palm Beach,FL (USA) when the crew reported electrical problems and decided to divert to Fort Lauderdale,FL later changing the destination to West Palm Beach. The aircraft landed safely on West Palm Beach's runway 28R about 20 minutes after leaving FL320.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled.
