A Maximus Air Cargo Ilyushin IL-76, registration UR-BXQ performing flight MXU-3701 from Dubai Al Maktoum (United Arab Emirates) to Aqaba (Jordan), was on approach to Aqaba when the crew did not receive a down and locked indication for the left main gear. The approach was aborted, the aircraft entered a holding to work the relevant checklists, the crew was unable to get a safe indication for the left main gear despite selecting the gear up and down a number of times and an alternate gear extension. The aircraft subsequently landed safely at Aqaba on all three gear struts.

Ukraine's Ministry of Transport reported that a post flight examination revealed the spring lock assembly of the aft left main gear bearing had failed. The airline has been ordered to inspect all their IL-76 for similiar faults.
