A Citilink Garuda Indonesia Airbus A320-200, registration PK-GLN performing QG-970 from Jakarta to Padang (Indonesia) with 179 people on board, landed on Padang's runway 33 at about 19:40L (11:40Z) but veered off the runway damaging two runway edge lights and two wheels.

The French BEA reported in their weekly bulletin that Indonesia's NTSC opened an investigation into the occurrence rated a serious incident. At the time of the final approach the aircraft encountered cross winds up to 20 knots from the left.
