A Swiss Airbus A340-300, registration HB-JML performing flight LX-180 (dep Nov 27th) from Zurich (Switzerland) to Bangkok (Thailand), stopped the climb out of Zurich at FL240 near Innsbruck and Salzburg (Austria) and set course towards Vienna (Austria) after the crew detected an abnormal indication for one of the thrust reversers (engine CFM56) suggesting the thrust reverser was not in its expected position. The aircraft dumped fuel and landed safely in Vienna about one hour later.

The incident aircraft was able to continue the journey after 90 minutes on the ground and reached Bangkok with a delay of 2:45 hours.

The airline reported one of the thrust reversers indicated deactivated.
