An American Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N349AN performing flight AA-912 from Santiago (Chile) to Miami,FL (USA), was enroute near Lima (Peru) when the crew decided to divert to Lima reporting electrical problems on board. The aircraft landed safely in Lima.

A passenger reported the aircraft was received by emergency services. After landing the crew asked passengers to remain in their seats, after about one hour the crew announced that the fault could not be fixed. The passengers disembarked, a number of passengers was rebooked onto other flights.

The incident aircraft was able to continue the flight and reached Miami with a delay of 18 hours.
