A Skyjet British Aerospace BAe 146-200 on behalf of Alphaland Corporation, registration RP-C5525 performing a charter flight from Manila to Balesin Island (Philippines) with 68 passengers and 7 crew, landed on the dirt strip of Balesin Airstrip but overran the end of the runway by about 200 meters and came to a stop on wet mud at about 11:49L (03:49Z). No injuries occurred, the aircraft sustained substantial damage. According to CAAP the aircraft has been damaged beyond repair by a subsequent high tide.

The CAAP (Civil Aviation Authority Philippines) stated that the captain of the flight miscalculated the runway and came to a stop about 200 meters past the end of the runway. The aircraft received damage to the nose gear.

On Oct 21st the CAAP added that the aircraft touched down about half way down the runway, overran the end of the runway, hit a fence and yawed by about 90 degrees before coming to a stop about 200 meters past the end of the runway. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair when high tide partly submerged the aircraft. First investigation results so far have not revealed evidence of a valid certification of the aircraft.

Alphaland Corporation, who organise flights to/from Balesin Island Club for their guests, stated the aircraft chartered from Skyjet overran the end of the runway while landing in Balesin, there were no injuries.

No weather data are available for Balesin Island (Polillo).
