A SAS Scandinavian Airlines Boeing 737-500, registration LN-BRH performing flight SK-4577 from Tromso to Bodo (Norway), was departing Tromso's runway 19 when the right hand engine (CFM56) ingested a bird. The crew decided to return to Tromso for a safe landing on runway 18 about 10 minutes after departure.

The incident aircraft was able to resume service about 3.5 hours later.

A passenger reported the aircraft returned to Tromso when the right hand engine ingested a bird shortly after departure from runway 18.
