An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N890NN performing flight AA-2240 from Grand Cayman Island (Cayman Islands) to Miami,FL (USA), was on approach to Miami when the aircraft encountered severe turbulence causing injuries to three flight attendants. The aircraft continued for a safe landing about 15 minutes later.

The FAA reported three flight attendants received unknown injuries when the aircraft encountered severe turbulence.
