A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-DWA performing flight FR-1323 from Alicante,SP (Spain) to Shannon (Ireland), was descending towards Shannon when the crew requested to stop the descent at 4000 feet and enter a hold to work the checklists for flaps. ATC cleared the aircraft ot the hold issuing the instruction "hold level 4000 feet" (QNH 1011 hPa). The aircraft entered the hold at 4000 feet (not FL040) for about 20 minutes before announcing they needed to land without flaps but should do okay. The aircraft landed safely on runway 24 at a substantially higher speed than normal, rolled out safely and indicated all operations were normal before proceeding to the apron.

On Oct 7th 2013 the airline reported a faulty flaps sensor prevented the flaps from reaching the selected setting. The sensor was replaced by maintenance in Shannon.
