A Jettime Boeing 737-700, registration OY-JTU performing flight JG-701 from Stavanger (Norway) to Ponta Delgada (Portugal), was enroute at FL390 about 30nm north of London's Gatwick Airport,EN (UK) when the crew reported they had needed to shut the right hand engine (CFM56). The aircraft diverted to Gatwick Airport for a safe landing on runway 08R about 30 minutes after leaving FL390. Emergency services attended the aircraft and reported fluid dripping off the engine.

A replacement Boeing 737-300 registration OY-JTD reached Ponta Delgada with a delay of 7 hours.
