A MNG Jet Canadair CRJ-200 on behalf of Europe Jet, registration TC-EJA performing charter flight TCEJA from Naples (Italy) to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia) with 7 passengers and 4 crew, was on approach to Vnukovo Airport when after selecting the gear down only the nose gear extended with both main gear struts remaining retracted. The crew aborted the approach and entered a hold to work the relevant checklists and perform the related emergency maneouvers in an attempt to release the main landing gear, however to no avail. The crew subsequently performed a nose gear down main gear up landing on Vnukovo's runway 01. None of the occupants received injuries, the aircraft received substantial damage.

The airport was closed for about 4 hours until the aircraft was moved off the runway onto adjacent taxiway B5.

Russia's Ministry of Transport, Central District, reported an aircraft performed an emergency landing at Vnukovo Airport due to the failure of release of the main landing gear. Russian news agency ITAR-TASS cited officials of the Transport Ministry stating the aircraft involved was a "Challenger 100" of Turkish Airlines (editorial note: MNG Jet is an operator based in Turkey), that could not extend the nose gear.
