An Easyjet Airbus A319-100, registration G-EZDH performing flight U2-6423 from Newcastle,EN (UK) to Alicante,SP (Spain), was enroute at Fl370 about 70nm northwest of London Gatwick,EN (UK) when the crew decided to divert to Gatwick Airport after a fight between passengers broke out on board. The aircraft landed safely on Gatwick's runway 26L about 20 minutes later. Police arrested a male and a female passenger.

Sussex police confirmed they were called because of a disturbance on board, a man and woman were arrested.

The airline confirmed an incident on board which was efficiently defused by the cabin crew.

The aircraft reached Alicante with a delay of 2.5 hours.
