An Alliance Airlines Fokker 70, registration VH-JFB performing flight QQ-633 from Williamtown,NS to Sydney,NS (Australia), was taxiing for departure from Williamtown but lined up with the runway edge lights instead of runway center line and commenced takeoff at 18:40L (08:40Z). The crew recognized the error shortly after and rejected takeoff at low speed.

The Australian Transportation Safety Board opened an investigation into the occurrence rated a serious incident.

The incident aircraft reached Sydney with a delay of about 2 hours.
