A Lufthansa Boeing 747-400, registration D-ABTE performing flight LH-400 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was enroute at FL380 about 30nm southeast of Boston,MA (USA) when a female passenger (25) suffered symptoms of a severe asthma attack prompting the crew to divert to Boston for a safe landing on runway 22L about 15 minutes later. The patient was taken to a hospital, where she recovered.

The aircraft reached New York with a delay of 100 minutes.
