A Cargojet Boeing 757-200, registration C-FKCJ performing freight flight W8-620 from Moncton,NB to Halifax,NS (Canada) and further to St. John's, was being unloaded on the apron of Halifax, when a ground worker (58) went underneath a hydraulic loader and got trapped by the device. The flight crew requested medical assistance, arriving emergency personnel however could not help the worker anymore and had to pronounce the man dead.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police reported the man died after being trapped by a hydraulic cargo loader.

The airline reported the man was ground worker employed by Servisair on contract to service their aircraft. The circumstances of his death are being investigated.

The family reported that the man had decades of experience and was very safety minded, however he also was diabetic. The family hopes an autopsy clarifies whether the diabetes may have played a role in the accident.
